Bravery is one of humankind’s most sought-after characteristics, alongside wit, humor, and the ability to read a city map without pulling a hamstring. Make your species proud with today’s Groupon: for $45, you get admission for a team of two to the Urban Dare Adventure Race(up to a $90 value), launching at noon on Saturday, April 21, from McFadden’s on Pennsylvania Avenue.
Urban Dare Adventure Race is a fast-paced competition that challenges two-person teams to decipher clues, navigate the city, and perform playful stunts. Combining the bustle of a track meet with the brain-taxing sleuth work of a luge competition, the race uses a dozen trivia-based clues to lead contestants to checkpoints all over Washington, DC. Location hunters reach their checkpoints by whatever means necessary, be it hopping a bus downtown, flying madly through a network of secret ziplines, or scuba-diving in a fountain for bus fare. At the mini destinations, racers must use a camera to document their presence, or, in some cases, get their passports stamped after completing a challenge.
Races generally last less than four hours, and the winner receives free entry to the next Super Dare, which has a $5,000 grand prize that allows the winners to dare each other to invest in a low-risk mutual fund. Proceeds from the race are used to help battle breast cancer.
May buy multiple as gifts. Limit 1 per visit. Must be 18 or older. Must sign waiver. Operates in all weather. Races are non-transferable. Must provide first and last name at checkout.
Let’s all get together for a night of fun and friendly competition! The Filipino Cultural Association, Black Student Alliance, and Akoma Circle are collaborating together to host a bowling night!
It’ll definitely be a great night, so invite all of your friends and members from your org so we can all meet and mingle
