National Cherry Blossom Festival 2012 “Centennial Celebration”, March 25th…

National Cherry Blossom Festival 2012 "Centennial Celebration"

Uploaded by  on Mar 28, 2009

The National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C. is one of the most spectacular events of the year. Though the trees are only in bloom for a very short time, the festival draws in millions of tourists from all over the country to see the Tidal Basin surrounded in pink and white flowers.

The 3000 cherry blossom trees were given to our Capital by Yukio Ozaki from Japan in the early 1990′s. In return, the U.S. gave flowering dogwood trees a couple years later.
